Student Binoculars

Purpose: Students learn to use  binoculars during outdoor birding and biodiversity classes. In addition to sharpening their general observation skills, students get to witness bird behaviors and characteristics that they would not otherwise be able to see first-hand. This up-close experience creates a deeper understanding of these diverse and beautiful creatures, and  fosters the desire to protect them.

Magnfying Glasses

Purpose: Used by students for both indoor and outdoor classes, magnifying glasses allow students to explore characteristics of both the living and non-living parts of the ecosystem: Small insects going about their business; feather structure; leaf patterns and variations; parts of flowers and so much more. When we make the micro world so easily accessible, exploration and discovery takes on a whole new dimension.
